ประวัติการแข่งขันเรือยาวจังหวัดพิจิตร
การแข่งขันเรือยาว เป็ นวัฒนธรรมประเพณีของชาติมาหลายยุคหลายสมัย ส าหรับ
การแข่งขันเรือยาวประเพณีของวัดท่าหลวง เริ่มตั ้งแต่พระเดชพระคุณหลวงพ่อเจ้าคุณพระธรรมทัส สี-
มุนีวงศ์ (เอี่ยม) มาด ารงต าแหน่งเจ้าอาวาสวัดท่าหลวง และเจ้าคณะจังหวัดพิจิตร ประมาณ
พ.ศ. 2450 แข่งขันติดต่อกันมาจนกระทั่งถึงสมัยของ พระเดชพระคุณหลวงพ่อเจ้าคุณพระฑีฆทัสสี-
มุนีวงศ์(ไป๋ นาควิจิตร) มาด ารงต าแหน่งเจ้าอาวาสวัดท่าหลวง และเจ้าคณะจังหวัดพิจิตร ในสมัย
ของพระเดชพระคุณหลวงพ่อเจ้าคุณพระฑีฆทัสสีมุนีวงศ์ เป็ นเจ้าอาวาส การก าหนดงานจัดงาน
แข่งขันเรือก าหนดตามวันทางจันทรคติคือวันขึ ้น 6 ค ่า เดือน 11 ของทุกปี ภายหลังน ้าในแม่น ้า
น่านลดลงไวเกินไปไม่เหมาะสมจะแข่งขันเรือยาว จึงเปลี่ยนมาเป็ นวันขึ ้น 6 ค ่า เดือน 10 และจัด
แข่งขันเพียงวันเดียว
การแข่งขันเรือยาวของวัดท่าหลวง ประชาชนให้ความสนใจมาชมงานอย่างคับคั่ง
ล้นหลามตลอดมา เพราะวัดท่าหลวงตั ้งอยู่ในเขตเทศบาลเมืองพิจิตรเพียงวัดเดียวเท่านั ้น เจ้าคณะ
จังหวัดพิจิตรเป็ นผู้จัดสนับสนุน โดยผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดพิจิตร (สมัยก่อนเรียกผู้ว่าราชการ ว่า
ข้าหลวง หรือ พ่อเมือง) สิ่งที่จูงใจอีกอย่างหนึ่ง คือ ภายในวัดท่าหลวงมีพระพูทธรูปทรงอานุภาพ
ศกัดิ์สิทธิ์องค์หนงึ่ คือ หลวงพอ่ เพชร สมยัเชียงแสนสิงห์1 รุ่นแรก ขนาดหน้าตักกว้าง 2 ศอก
6 นิ ้ว เป็ นที่เคารพนับถือของชาวจังหวัดพิจิตร และจังหวัดใกล้เคียงเป็ นอย่างยิ่ง เมื่อประชาชน
มาชมการแข่งขันเรือยาวแล้วได้มีโอกาสนมัสการ และปิ ดทององค์หลวงพ่อเพชรด้วยมือของตนเอง
ด้วย(เมื่อหลวงพ่อเพชรประดิษฐานอยู่ที่อุโบสถหลังเก่าที่หลวงพ่อเอี่ยมสร้างด้วยไม้สักเกือบทั ้งหลัง )
ได้อนุญาตให้ปิ ดทองที่องค์จริงได้ ต่อมา พระเดชพระคุณหลวงพ่อเจ้าคุณพระฑีฆทัสสีมุนีวงศ์
( ไป๋ นาควิจิตร )เมื่อ พ.ศ. 2492 ได้อัญเชิญหลวงพ่อเพชรไปประดิษฐานเหนือพระแท่นฐานชุกชี
แล้วลงลักปิ ดทองเรียบร้อยทั ้งองค์ แล้วห้ามประชาชนปิ ดทององค์จริง เพราะว่าจะท าให้เสียความ
งามพระพุทธลักษณะ ปัจจุบันประชาชนให้ความเคารพนับถือหลวงพ่อเพชรทั่วประเทศไทยแล้ว
แม้วันปกติพระอุโบสถที่ประดิษฐานองค์หลวงพ่อเพชรก็ไม่ว่างจากสาธุชนที่มานมัสการ ผู้ที่มาเที่ยว
เมืองพิจิตร หรือมาชมงานแข่งขันเรือยาวประเพณี หากยังไม่ได้ไปนมัสการองค์หลวงพ่อเพชร ผู้นั ้น
ชื่อว่ายังมาไม่ถึงเมืองพิจิตร และวัดท่าหลวง เพราะว่าหลวงพ่อเพชรเป็ นจุดรวมจิตใจของประชาชน

ในการจัดรางวัลการแข่งขันเรือยาวประเพณีนั ้น ในสมัยหลวงพ่อเอี่ยมและต้นสมัย
หลวงพ่อไป๋ นั ้น จัดผ้าห่มหลวงพ่อเพชรพับใส่พานให้เป็ นรางวัลชนะเลิศ และรองชนะเลิศแก่เรือยาว
เมื่อเรือยาวล าใดได้ผ้าห่มหลวงพ่อเพชรไปแล้ว จะพึงพอใจเป็ นอย่างยิ่ง จะน าผ้ารางวัลนั ้นพันไว้ที่
โขนเรือ โดยถือว่าเป็ นสิริมงคลแก่เทือกเรือ(ฝี พาย) ของตน ภายหลังคณะกรรมการพิจารณาเห็นว่า
ผ้าห่มหลวงพ่อเพชรเป็ นของสูง การน าผ้าห่มของหลวงพ่อเพชรไปพันที่โขนเรืออาจไม่เหมาะสม จึง
ยกเลิกเสีย แล้วจัดท าธงที่มีภาพหลวงพ่อเพชรเป็ นรางวัลชนะเลิศและรองชนะเลิศแทน ต่อมา ได้ท า
ธงแบบนี ้ให้เป็ นอนุสรณ์แก่เรือที่เข้าร่วมแข่งขันทุกล า
การแข่งขันเรือยาวประเพณีของจังหวัดพิจิตร ณ วัดท่าหลวง ได้รับการพัฒนาขึ ้น
โดย ล าดับคือ เพิ่มวันแข่งขันจากหนึ่งวันมาเป็ นสองวัน เพราะเรือยาวประเภทต่าง ๆ ที่เข้าร่วม
แข่งขันเพิ่มขึ ้นทุกปี และเพื่อความเป็ นธรรมแก่เรือที่เข้าร่วมแข่งขัน ได้จัดเพิ่มเรือยาวขนาดกลาง
ขึ ้นมาอีกขนาดหนึ่ง รวมเป็ น 3 ขนาด คือ ขนาดเล็ก ฝี พายไม่เกิน 30 คน ขนาดกลางฝี พาย ไม่
เกิน 40 คน ขนาดใหญ่ฝี พายไม่เกิน 55 คน แต่ละขนาดแยกเป็ น 2 ประเภท คือ ประเภท ก
และประเภท ข ประเภท ก คือ การแข่งขันเรือยาวทั่วไป โดยเชิญจากทุกจังหวัดที่มีเรือยาวเข้าร่วม
แข่งขัน ส่วนประเภท ข นั ้น เราจะเชิญเฉพาะเรือยาวที่อยู่ในจังหวัดพิจิตร เท่านั ้นก าหนดวันแข่งขัน
จากวันจันทรคติ คือวันขึ ้น 6 ค ่า เดือน 10 มาเป็ นวันสุริยคติ คือ เสาร์ อาทิตย์ ของต้นเดือน
กันยายนทุกปี
การจัดงานแข่งขันเรือยาวประเพณีของจังหวัดพิจิตร ณ วัดท่าหลวง ที่ด าเนินไป
โดยความเรียบร้อยทุกปี นั ้น เพราะผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดพิจิตร ให้การสนับสนุนและเป็ นผู้ด าเนินงาน
อันประกอบด้วย หัวหน้าส่วนราชการทุกส่วน และสมาชิกสภาผู้แทนราษฎรจังหวัดพิจิตร ทุกสมัย
อ าเภอทุกอ าเภอ มีอ าเภอเมืองพิจิตร เป็ นหลักส าคัญ ที่ส าคัญยิ่ง คือ เทศบาลเมืองพิจิตร ที่ส าคัญ
สุด คือ การท่องเที่ยวแห่งประเทศไทย เพราะได้ให้การสนับสนุนงานหลายอย่าง และประชาสัมพันธ์
ให้ประชาชนรับทราบความส าคัญของงานโดยทั่วไป ทั ้งภายในประเทศ และต่างประเทศ ธนาคาร
ต่าง ๆ ภายในจังหวัดพิจิตร พ่อค้าประชาชน คณะไวยาวัจกร คณะทายกอุบาสกอุบาสิกา
วัดท่าหลวง และผู้สนับสนุนส่งเสริมงานอย่างดียิ่ง คือ สื่อสารมวลชน อันประกอบด้วย วิทยุ

พระราชทานถ้วยรางวัล เนื่องในการแข่งขันเรือยาวประเพณีของจังหวัดพิจิตร ทั ้ง 3 ขนาด คือ
ขนาดใหญ่ ขนาดกลาง ขนาดเล็ก นับว่าเป็ นพระมหากรุณาธิคุณล้นเกล้า ฯ หาที่สุดมิได้
ถ้วยรางวัลที่พระองค์ พระราชทานมานี ้ได้สร้างความภูมิใจเป็ นอย่างยิ่งให้แก่ประชาชนชาวจังหวัด
พิจิตร และ คณะกรรมการผู้จัดงาน หลังจากการที่พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว ฯ ได้พระราชทาน
ถ้วยรางวัลแก่คณะกรรมการผู้จัดงานมานั ้นแล้ว ได้สร้างความสนใจแก่ประชาชนผู้มาชมงานเป็ น
