การวิจัยเรื่อง “ภาวะผู้นำกับการรับมือกับปัญหาในเรื่องการจัดการน้ำในประเทศไทย: กรณีศึกษากรมชลประทาน” เป็นการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ โดยศึกษาจาก เอกสาร ตำรา บทความทางวิชาการ การสืบค้นจากเว็บไซต์ต่าง ๆ และการเก็บข้อมูลภาคสนามด้วยการสัมภาษณ์แบบเจาะลึก (In - Depth Interview) ประกอบกับการสังเกตขณะสัมภาษณ์ผู้บริหารองค์กรคืออธิบดีกรมชลประทาน สัมภาษณ์กลุ่มเจ้าหน้าที่ผู้บริหารองค์กร กรมชลประทาน 5 คน โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์ของการวิจัย คือ 1.) เพื่อศึกษาภาวะผู้นำของกรมชลประทานในการบริหารจัดการน้ำ 2.) เพื่อศึกษาเกี่ยวกับแนวทางในการแก้ไขปัญหาการจัดการน้ำในประเทศไทย 3.) เพื่อศึกษาแนวทางการรับมือปัญหาเรื่องน้ำท่วมจะเกิดขึ้นในอนาคต 4.) เพื่อศึกษาปัญหาและสาเหตุและอุปสรรคต่างๆที่ผ่านมาที่ทำให้เกิดปัญหาเรื่องน้ำว่าได้นำมาศึกษาและมาเตรียมการรับมือในอนาคตไว้อย่างไรในมุมมองของอธิบดีกรมชลประทาน
