ประวัติความเป็นมา ของพิพิธภัณฑสถานแห่งชาติในประเทศไทยมีประวัติและพัฒนาการมายาวนานนับพันปี ตั้งแต่สมัยกรีก โรมัน โดยเริ่มจากพิพิธภัณฑสถานในพระราชวังและส่วนบุคคล แล้วมีพัฒนาการด้านความเจริญก้าวหน้าและแผ่ขยายไปในประเทศต่างๆ
