เรื่องย่อราพันเซลณเมืองแห่งหนึ่งมีพระราชาและราชินีที่กำลังป่วยหนักแต่เมืองแห่งนี้มีตำนานของดอกไม้วิเศษดอกหนึ่งที่นานหลายร้อยปีจะบานซึ่งละอองเกสรของดอกไม้นี้สามารถรักษาได้ทุกอย่างพระราชาได้สั่งให้เหล่าทหารไปหาและนำเกสรของดอกไม้นี้มาให้ได้ดอกไม้นี้ได้บานที่เชิงผาริมม หาสมุทรแต่ดอกไม้นี้ได้ถูกค้นพบโดยหญิงชราคนหนึ่งชื่อว่า " กอเทล " ที่ต้องการจะรักษาความสาวของตนไว้และได้ซ่อนดอกไม้นี้ไว้เพื่อที่จะได้ใช้ประโยชน์เพียงผู้เดียวโดยการนำตะกร้ามาปิดเอาไว้และเมื่อเหล่าทหารของพระราชาแห่กันมาทำให้หญิงชราคนนี้ตกใจปัดเอาตะกร้าใบน ั้นตกไปทำให้เหล่าทหารค้นเจอและได้ขุดดอกไม้นี้ไปไว้ในวังเกสรนี้ได้นำไปถวายให้ราชินีที่กำลังป่วยหนักได้ดื่มทำให้พระนางหายจากโรคร้ายและหลังจากนั้นไม่นานก็ได้ให้กำเนิดธิดาที่เกิดมาพร้อมกับผมสีทองอร่ามดั่งสีของละอองเกสรดอกไม้วิเศษมีนามว่า" ราพันเซล " เมื่อหญิงชราทราบว่าดอกไม้วิเศษได้ไปอยู่ในเส้นผมของเจ้าหญิงน้อยในคืนนั้นจึงทำการลอบเข้าไปในพระราชวังเพื่อทำการตัดผมของราพันเซลแต่ทว่าเมื่อตัดแล้วทำให้ผมกลับเป็นสีน้ำตาลหมดอิทธิฤทธิ์ไปทำให้นางตัดสินใจลักพาตัวเจ้าหญิงไปจากวังนางได้นำเจ้าหญิงราพันเซลไปซ่อนและได้ทำการเลี้ยงดูเฉกเช่นลูกในหอคอยสูงในป่าใหญ่เพื่อหลบซ่ อนไม่ให้เหล่าทหารหาเจอหญิงชราได้ใช้อิทธิฤทธิ์จากผมของราพันเซลโดยการขับร้องเพลงเพลงหนึ่งจะทำให้ผมของเจ้าหญิงส่องแสงสีทองอร่ามและนางก็สามารถกลับมาเป็นสาวอีกครั้งทางด้านเจ้าหญิงราพันเซลที่ต้องอาศัยอยู่แต่ข้างในหอคอยทุกๆปีนางจะได้เห็นโคมไฟลอยฟ้าที่พระราชาและพระราชินีรวมทั้งเหล่าประชาชนได้ลอยในวันเกิดของนางและพระองค์ทั้งสองก็หวังว่าจะได้เจอกับเจ้าหญิงน้อยสักวันส่วนราพันเซลก็แอบหวังว่าสักวันนางจะได้ออกมาสู่โลก ภายนอกและได้ไปดูโคมไฟลอยฟ้าใกล้ๆสักครั้งหนึ่งในชีวิตเมื่อเวลาล่วงเลยมาประมาณ 15 . ณใจกลางของเมืองมีโจรเจ้าเล่ห์อยู่ 3 คนคือโจรฝาแฝดหน้าตาเถื่อนๆและ " ฟลินน์ " จอมโจรหน้าหล่อทั้งสามมีหมายปร
