โครงการนี้ได้จัดทำขึ้นเพื่อเป็นการแนะนำสถานที่ท่องเที่ยวที่มีความสวยงามและความ สำคัญของจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ อีกทั้งยังทำให้ได้รู้เรื่องราวต่างๆที่เกี่ยวข้องในสถานที่นั้นๆอีกด้วย เช่น ประวัติของสถานที่นั้นๆ ประเพณีและวัฒนธรรมที่ดีงามของชาวจังหวัดเชียงใหม่หรือชาวล้านนาด้วยนั่นเอง ด้วยเหตุนี้เองกลุ่มของข้าพเจ้าจึงเลือกทำโครงงานเรื่องจังวหวัดเชียงใหม่ขึ้น เพื่อเป็นการศึกษาสถานที่ท่องเที่ยวที่สำคัญๆนี้ อีกทั้งยังได้เผยแพร่เรื่องราวเกี่ยวกับสถานที่ท่องเที่ยวต่างๆนี้ให้กับผู้อื่นได้รับรู้อีกด้วย และมีวัตถุประสงค์1.เพื่อให้เกิดความรู้ความเข้าใจในเรื่องการอนุรักษ์การท่องเที่ยว 2.เพื่อให้บุคคลทั่วไปตระหนักถึงสิ่งแวดล้อม 3. เพื่อให้เกิดความสามัคคีกันในกลุ่ม
ดังนั้นสมาชิกในกลุ่มจึงต้องการสำรวจ รวบรวม ข้อมูลในจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ เช่น ดอยสุเทพ ม่อนแจ่ม เชียงดาว ฯลฯ
เพื่อศึกษาที่จะทำโครงงานมาเผยแพร่ให้นักท่องเที่ยวได้รู้ และเข้ามาเที่ยวชมจังหวัดเชียงใหม่กันมากขึ้น
