จากการศึกษาความหลากหลายของไลเคนบริเวณเส้นทางเดินศึกษาธรรมชาติ หมู่บ้านแม่กำปอง อำเภอแม่ออน จังหวัดเชียงใหม่ พบไลเคน 2 กลุ่มใหญ่ ได้แก่ ครัสโตส (crustose) และ ฟอลิโอส (foliose) ทั้งหมด 32 ชนิด โดยพบไลเคนกลุ่มครัสโตสมากที่สุด จำนวน 23 ชนิด จำแนกได้ 8 สกุล บางชนิดยังไม่สามารถจำแนกสกุลได้ ได้แก่ ไลเคนในวงศ์ Graphidaceae 7 ตัวอย่าง และไลเคนที่ไม่สร้าง fruiting body (sterile crustose) จำนวน 8 ตัวอย่าง พบไลเคนกลุ่มครัสโตสมากกว่าไลเคนชนิดอื่นๆในทุกพื้นที่ศึกษา (ภาพ 2 ) เช่นเดียวกับความถี่ของไลเคนแต่ละชนิด พบว่าความถี่ของครัสโตสสูงกกว่าฟอลิโอส (ภาพ 3)
