เมื่อวันที่ 25 กุมภาพันธ์ พ.ศ.2525 พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวฯ ได้เสด็จพระราชดำเนินทรงเปิดเขื่อนนเรศวร และทรงเยี่ยมราษฎร ณ บริเวณเขื่อนนเรศวร บ้านหาดใหญ่ ตำบลพรหมพิราม อำเภอพรหมพิราม จังหวัดพิษณุโลก ได้พระราชทานพระราชดำริเกี่ยวกับงานชลประทาน ได้แก่ต่อไปนี้
