การศึกษาวิจัยในครั้งนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อให้นักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 2 ได้มีความรู้ความสามารถ ในการอ่านภาษาอังกฤษและเข้าใจความหมายมากยิ่งขึ้น โดยใช้กิจกรรมการอ่านจากสื่อสิ่งพิมพ์หรือใบงานที่มีประกอบอยู่ รวมทั้งการลงมือทำแบบฝึกหัดเพื่อทดสอบความรู้ ความเข้าใจ และประเมินผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการพัฒนาด้านการเรียนรู้ภาษาอังกฤษ โดยผู้วิจัยได้จัดทำการทดสอบก่อนเรียนและหลังเรียน รวมทั้งทำการคิดวิเคราะห์ผลคะแนน
จากการศึกษาปรากฏว่า จากการทดสอบจากทักษะการอ่านภาษาอังกฤษจากคำศัพท์เกี่ยวกับสภาพภูมิอากาศ และทำแบบฝึกหัดที่กำหนดให้นั้น ทำให้นักเรียนมีความรู้ ความเข้าใจ และสามารถทำแบบทดสอบหลังเรียนได้ดียิ่งขึ้น ดังจะเห็นได้จากการเปรียบเทียบผลการทดสอบก่อนเรียนและหลังเรียนของนักเรียนที่เพิ่มขึ้น
