AEC หรือ Asean Economics Community คือ การรวมตัวของชาติใน ASEAN จำนวน 10 ประเทศ ประกอบไปด้วย ไทย, เวียดนาม, พม่า, ลาว, มาเลเซีย, สิงคโปร์, อินโดนีเซีย, บรูไน, ฟิลิปปินส์ และ กัมพูชา เพื่อจะสร้างผลประโยชน์ทางเศรษฐกิจร่วมกัน จะมีรูปแบบคล้ายๆ กลุ่ม Euro Zone นั่นเอง จะทำให้มีผลประโยชน์, อำนาจต่อรองต่างๆ กับคู่ค้าได้มากขึ้น และการนำเข้า ส่งออกของชาติในอาเซียนก็จะเสรี ยกเว้นสินค้าบางชนิดที่แต่ละประเทศอาจจะขอไว้ไม่ลดภาษีนำเข้า ASEAN จะรวมตัวเป็น ประชาคมเศรษฐกิจอาเซียนและมีผลใน วันที่ 1 มกราคม 2558 ซึ่งจะทำให้ภูมิภาคนี้เปลี่ยนไปอย่างไม่เคยเป็นมาก่อน เป้าหมายการรวมตัวเป็นประชาคมอาเซียน หากจะกล่าวโดยสรุปอย่างย่อ ๆ พอเข้าใจ ประชาคมอาเซียน มุ่งเน้นการรวมตัว ใน 3 เรื่องสำคัญ คือ
