การวิจัยครั้งนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์ต่อไปนี้ 1) เพื่อศึกษาสภาพและปัญหาการบริหารงานวิชาการในสถานศึกษาขนาดเล็ก สังกัดสำนักงานเขตพื้นที่การศึกษามัธยมศึกษา เขต 41 2) เพื่อหาแนวทางพัฒนาการบริหารงานวิชาการในสถานศึกษาขนาดเล็ก สังกัดสำนักงานเขตพื้นที่การศึกษามัธยมศึกษาเขต 41 กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการศึกษาวิจัยครั้งนี้ ได้แก่ ผู้บริหารและครูผู้สอนในสถานศึกษาขนาดเล็ก สังกัดสำนักงานเขตพื้นที่การศึกษามัธยมศึกษาเขต 41 ปีการศึกษา 2557 จำนวน 217 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลเป็นแบบสอบถามและแบบสัมภาษณ์ การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้โปรแกรมสำเร็จรูป เพื่อวิเคราะห์หาค่าเฉลี่ย ( "X" ̅ ) ค่าความเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน (S.D.) และแจกแจงความถี่ การจัดอันดับ ผลการวิจัย พบว่า
