มดเป็นสัตว์ที่มีอยู่จำนวนมากและไม่มีที่เป็นหลักเป็นแหล่งและอยู่รวมกันเป็นจำนวนมากๆ และก่อความรำคาญให้แก่ผู้คนจึงได้มีการคิดการแก้ปัญหาในแบบที่ไม่ใช้สารเคมีเพราะมีความอันตรายและเสี่ยงต่อการเกิดโรคต่างๆเมื่อใช้ไปจำนวนมากและกลุ่มข้าพเจ้าได้มีการศึกษาแล้วพบว่าเปลือกไข่ไก่และไข่เป็ดสามารถไล่มดได้เพราะมีคุณสมบัติคล้ายคลึงกับชอล์กที่มี CaCo3 ซึ่งมีความเป็นด่าง กลุ่มของข้าพเจ้าจึงได้ทำการนำไข่ไก่มาบดให้เป็นผงละเอียดและผสมกับปูนปลาสเตอร์ 3 ส่วน และดินสอพอง 1 ส่วน และนำไปตากแห้งและได้ทดลองนำชอล์กไข่ไก่และไข่เป็ดไปขีดในบริเวณที่มีมด ผลปรากฏว่าชอล์กไข่เป็ดสามารถไล่มดได้ดีกว่าชอล์กไข่ไก่เพราะมี CaCo3 มากกว่า
