ประวัติ

บริษัท เอส. บี. อุตสาหกรรมเครื่องเรือน จำกัด ได้เริ่มจากร้านเฟอร์นิเจอร์ไม้สักในย่านบางโพที่ชื่อ “ชอว์บราเดอร์ส เฟอร์นิเจอร์” โดยมีคุณสุรพลและคุณสรญา ชวาลดิฐ เป็นผู้ก่อตั้ง ในปี พ.ศ. 2510

คุณสุรพล ชวาลดิฐ เริ่มจากการหาเลี้ยงตัวเอง ด้วยการเป็นช่างไม้ ตั้งแต่เริ่มเป็นวัยรุ่น ด้วยฝีมือที่ดี และแบบที่สวยงาม ทำให้ออเดอร์หลั่งไหลเข้ามามาก จนต้องเพิ่มคนงานจาก 2-3 คน เป็น 20-30 คน ในเวลาไม่นาน และตั้ง หจก.ชอว์บราเดอร์ โรงงานเฟอร์นิเจอร์ไม้สัก แห่งแรกขึ้น

หลังจากนั้นในปี พ.ศ. 2516 ได้ริเริ่มทำแคทตาล็อคเฟอร์นิเจอร์เล่มแรกของประเทศไทย ภายใต้ชื่อ “อุตสาหกรรมเฟอร์นิเจอร์ไทย” ซึ่งเป็นแคทตาล็อค 3 ภาษา คือ ไทย จีน อังกฤษ จนได้เป็นจุดเปลี่ยนที่ช่วยสร้างชื่อให้กับ “ชอว์บราเดอร์ เฟอร์นิเจอร์” จนมีตัวแทนจำหน่ายสินค้าเพิ่มขึ้นทั่วประเทศและมียอดสั่งซื้อจากต่างประเทศ ทำให้ต้องขยายโรงงานและซื้อเครื่องจักรใหม่เพื่อเพิ่มกำลังการผลิตให้มากขึ้น

ต่อมาในปี พ.ศ. 2522 รัฐบาลได้เริ่มรณรงค์เรื่องการรักษาทรัพยากรธรรมชาติ ทางบริษัทเปลี่ยนมาผลิตเป็นเฟอร์นิเจอร์สำเร็จรูปแบบถอดประกอบได้ (knock down) เพื่อใช้แทนไม้สัก จนในปี พ.ศ. 2525 ได้นำเฟอร์นิเจอร์ขึ้นโชว์บนห้างสรรพสินค้าเป็นรายแรก ที่ห้างเซ็นทรัลลาดพร้าว โดยริเริ่มเปิดเป็นโชว์รูมที่มีการนำเฟอร์นิเจอร์มาจัดโชว์เสมือนห้องจริง (model room) ภายใต้ชื่อ “เอส.บี. เฟอร์นิเจอร์” และได้ทำเฟอร์นิเจอร์แบรนด์ใหม่หรือแบรนด์น้องออกมาคือคอนเซ็ปต์ (Koncept) ซีเล็คชั่น (Zelection) และ Cucine Kitchen

ในปี พ.ศ. 2546 ทางบริษัทได้เปลี่ยนมาใช้ไม้ E1 หรือ European standard class 1 ซึ่งเป็นไม้ที่มีสารฟอร์มัลดีไฮด์ต่ำ (ไม่เป็นสาเหตุของโรคภูมิแพ้) เพื่อสุขภาพของผู้บริโภค นับเป็นบริษัทแรกและบริษัทเดียวในประเทศไทยที่ทุกชิ้นส่วนของผลิตภัณฑ์ทำจากไม้ E1 และในปี พ.ศ. 2552 ได้ขยายสาขาเอส. บี. ดีไซน์สแควร์สู่ Stand Alone เต็มรูปแบบ ที่สาขา คริสตัล ดีไซน์เซ็นเตอร์
