อำนาจหน้าที่
1. พัฒนาและกำหนดมาตรฐาน ให้ความเห็นชอบลักษณะและคุณภาพน้ำมันเชื้อเพลิงและน้ำมันหล่อลื่น
2. พิจารณาให้ความเห็นชอบการจำหน่ายน้ำมันเชื้อเพลิงที่มีลักษณะและคุณภาพไม่เป็นไปตามกฏหมายว่าด้วยการค้าน้ำมันเชื้อเพลิงกำหนด
3. ตรวจ วิเคราะห์คุณภาพน้ำมันเชื้อเพลิงและน้ำมันหล่อลื่น รวมทั้งน้ำมันอื่นตามที่กฎหมายว่า ด้วยการค้าน้ำมันเชื้อเพลิงกำหนดและตามที่หน่วยงานอื่นขอความร่วมมือ
4. ตรวจสอบคุณภาพน้ำมันเชื้อเพลิงของผู้ค้าน้ำมันให้เป็นไปตามกฏหมายว่าด้วยการค้าน้ำมันเชื้อเพลิงกำหนด
5. ตรวจสอบการจดทะเบียนและการปฏิบัติตามเงื่อนไขของผู้ค้าน้ำมันให้เป็นไปตามที่กฏหมายว่าด้วยการค้าน้ำมันเชื้อเพลิงกำหนด
6. ตรวจสอบการปลอมปนน้ำมันเชื้อเพลิงร่วมกับหน่วยงานอื่นที่เกี่ยวข้อง
7. ปฏิบัติงานร่วมกับหรือสนับสนุนการปฏิบัติงานของหน่วยงานอื่นที่เกี่ยวข้องหรือที่ได้รับมอบหมาย
