วิหารวัดวัดมหาธาตุ สุโขทัย




วัดมหาธาตุ จ.สุโขทัย
เป็นวัดหลวงโบราณขนาดใหญ่ที่สำคัญของกรุงสุโขทัยมาแต่อดีต ตั้งอยู่ในใจกลางเมือง ในเขตอุทยานประวัติศาสตร์สุโขทัย ใกล้กับวัดตระพังเงิน และเนินปราสาท สร้างในสมัยพ่อขุนศรีอินทราทิตย์ นับเป็นโบราณสถานที่สำคัญและมีสิ่งปลูกสร้างมากที่สุดของสุโขทัย โดยมีเจดีย์รายนับได้ถึง 200 องค์

ภายในมีโบราณสถานที่สำคัญ ประกอบด้วย
พระมหาธาตุเจดีย์ เป็นเจดีย์ประธานทรงดอกบัวตูม หรือทรงพุ่มข้าวบิณฑ์ ซึ่งเป็นเอกลักษณ์ของศิลปะสุโขทัย และพบเห็นได้ที่เมืองบริวารอื่นๆ เช่น เมืองกำแพงเพชร ได้แก่ วัดวังพระธาตุ วัดกะโลทัย และวัดเจดีย์กลางทุ่ง เป็นต้น

พระวิหารหลวง ตั้งอยู่ด้านหน้าพระมหาธาตุเจดีย์ เป็นพระวิหารโถงใหญ่ขนาด 11 ห้อง เสาก่อด้วยศิลาแลง ท้ายพระวิหารปรากฎฐานชุกชี ซึ่งเคยเป็นที่ประดิษฐาน พระศรีศากยมุนี พระพุทธรูปสำริดขนาดใหญ่ ซึ่งพระมหาธรรมราชาลิไทย ทรงโปรดฯให้หล่อขึ้น เมื่อปี พ.ศ. 1905 ภายหลังได้อัญเชิญไปยังวิหารหลวงวัดสุทัศน์เทพวราราม กรุงเทพมหานคร ในสมัยรัชกาลที่ 1 แห่งกรุงรัตนโกสินทร์

เจดีย์ห้ายอด ตั้งอยู่ด้านข้างมณฑปด้านทิศใต้ เป็นเจดีย์ก่อด้วยอิฐ ประดิษฐานด้วยพระพุทธรูปางมารวิชัยอยู่ทั้งสามด้าน บริเวณฐานเจดีย์ประดับด้วยปูนปั้นรูปมารแบกของ ช้าง สิงห์ และรูปเทวดา เชื่อกันว่าเป็นเจดีย์บรรจุพระอัฐิของ พระมหาธรรมราชาลิไท
