วัดร่องขุ่น (Wat Rong Khun) ออกแบบและก่อสร้างโดยอาจารย์เฉลิมชัย โฆษิตพิพัฒน์ ซึ่งปรารถนาจะสร้างวัดให้เหมือนเมืองสวรรค์ที่มนุษย์สัมผัสได้ เริ่มสร้างตั้งแต่ พ.ศ. 2540 จากเดิมมีเนื้อที่ 3 ไร่ ได้ซื้อที่ดินเพิ่มและมีผู้บริจาคคือคุณวันชัย วิชญชาคร จนปัจจุบันมีเนื้อที่ 9 ไร่ และมีพระกิตติพงษ์ กัลยาโณ รักษาการเจ้าอาวาสองค์ปัจจุบัน
ประวัติวัดร่องขุ่น
อาจารย์เฉลิมชัย โฆษิตพิพัฒน์ได้รับแรงบันดาลใจในการสร้างวัดมาจาก 3 สิ่งต่อไปนี้
ชาติ : ด้วยความรักบ้านเมือง รักงานศิลป์ จึงหวังสร้างงานศิลปะที่ยิ่งใหญ่ไว้เป็นสมบัติของแผ่นดิน
ศาสนา : ธรรมะได้เปลี่ยนชีวิตของอาจารย์เฉลิมชัยจากจิตที่ร้อนกลายเป็นเย็น จึงขออุทิศตนให้แก่พระพุทธศาสนา
พระมหากษัตริย์ : จากการเข้าเฝ้าฯ ถวายงานพระองค์ท่านหลายครั้ง ทำให้อาจารย์เฉลิมชัยรักพระองค์ท่านมาก จากการพบเห็นพระอัจฉริยะภาพทางศิลปะและพระเมตตาของพระองค์ท่าน จนบังเกิดความตื้นตันและสำนึกในพระมหากรุณาธิคุณ จึงปรารถนาที่จะสร้างงานพุทธศิลป์ถวายเป็นงานศิลปะประจำรัชกาลพระองค์ท่าน
เฉลิมชัย โฆษิตพิพัฒน์ (เกิด 15 กุมภาพันธ์ พ.ศ. 2498) จิตรกรไทยมีผลงานจิตรกรรมไทยหลายอย่าง ได้มีผลงานเช่น ภาพจิตรกรรมไทยในอุโบสถวัดพุทธประทีป กรุงลอนดอน ประเทศอังกฤษ, เขียนภาพประกอบบทพระราชนิพนธ์ พระมหาชนก และผลงานศิลปะที่ วัดร่องขุ่น ซึ่งมีทั้งงานสถาปัตถยกรรม, ประติมากรรมปูนปั้น และงานจิตรกรรมไทย

ความหมายของอุโบสถ
