1.ต้องเป็นผู้ที่อยู่ในประเทศไทยอย่า

2.เป็นนักเรียนชั้น ม.4, ม.5, ม.6 ติดต่อกัน 3 ปี ตามหลักสูตรการศึกษาขั้นพื้นฐาน พุทธศักราช 2544 ที่สังกัดสำนักงาน
คณะกรรมการการศึกษาขั้นพื้นฐาน หรือสำนักงานคณะกรรมการการศึกษาเอกชน ของโรงเรียน 17 จังหวัดในเขตพัฒนาภาคเหนือ
โดยมีเงื่อนไขต่อไปนี้
2.1
เป็นนักเรียนชั้น ม.6 ของโรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษาในเขตพัฒนาภาคเหนือ ตลอดปีการศึกษา 2553 เท่านั้น
2.2
เป็นนักเรียนชั้น ม.5 ของโรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษาในเขตพัฒนาภาคเหนือ ตลอดปีการศึกษา 2552 เท่านั้น
2.3
เป็นนักเรียนชั้น ม.4 ของโรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษาในเขตพัฒนาภาคเหนือ ตลอดปีการศึกษา 2551 เท่านั้น
สำหรับนักศึกษาผู้ใหญ่ ต้องเป็นนักศึกษาผู้ใหญ่สายสามัญ ของโรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษาในเขตพัฒนาภาคเหนือติดต่อกัน 2 ปี
(4 ภาคเรียน) เปิดสอนในลักษณะประเภทชั้นเรียน ตามหลักสูตรมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลาย พ.ศ. 2530

ที่สังกัดกรมการศึกษานอกโรงเรียน
3.เป็นผู้ที่มีร่างกายแข็งแรงและไม่เป็นโรค หรือภาวะอันเป็นอุปสรรคในการศึกษา
4.จะต้องไม่เป็นผู้ที่มีสถานภาพเป็นนักศึกษา มหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่ในวันที่กำหนดให้สมัครสอบคัดเลือก
