โดยด้านของแรงจูงใจ (Motivation) ก็คืออำนาจ รับรู้สิ่งเร้าที่เป็นเงื่อนไข อารมณ์ที่เกิดขึ้นนั้นจะเป็นตัวบงการให้เกิดพฤติกรรมภายนอกต่อไป ส่วนแรงบันดาลใจ ก็คืออำนาจอันเกิดจากจิตวิญญาณซึ่งเป็นแก่นแท้ของตนเอง โดยใช้เงื่อนไขภายในจิตใจของตนด้วยตัวเอง ซึ่งเรียกว่า “การสำนึกรู้” (Conscious) สิ่งนี้เป็นตัวกำหนดการกระทำออกมา คิดดีจึงทำสิ่งดี คิดไม่ดีผลการกระทำจึงออกมาไม่ดีตามความคิด (ปัทมโรจน์ มากสุริยวงศ์)

ในการดำเนินชีวิตของข้าพเจ้า จึงอาศัยแรงจูงใจมาขับเคลื่อนเป็นแรงบันดาลใจ โดยข้าพเจ้ามักจะนึกถึงภาพความสำเร็จของตนเองในอนาคต การจบการศึกษาดี เป็นแพทย์ที่ดี มีความรู้ความสามารถในการรักษาผู้คนให้หายขาดจากโรคได้ และทำประโยชน์เพื่อสังคมให้ได้มากตามที่ตนมีโอกาส อีกทั้งมีความมั่นคงทางเศรษฐกิจ เป็นพุทธศาสนิกชนที่ดี และช่วยส่งเสริมพระพุทธศาสนาให้เจริญรุ่งเรืองต่อไป สิ่งเหล่านี้เป็นความปรารถนาของข้าพเจ้า ในขณะเดียวกันก็เป็นแรงบันดาลใจของข้าพเจ้าที่จะต้องดำเนินชีวิตต่อไป แม้จะพบกับอุปสรรค หรือความยากลำบาก การมีเพียงแรงบันดาลใจในชีวิตคงไม่อาจทำให้ชีวิตดำเนินไปอย่างที่หวังได้ทั้งหมด แต่แรงบันดาลใจช่วยให้เรามีพลังที่จะทำในสิ่งที่อยากทำให้เต็มที่ และมีความสุขกับสิ่งที่ทำ
