Conditional Sentences แบ่งออกเป็น 3 ชนิด คือ
1. TYPE ONE เป็นการสมมติถึงเหตุการณ์ในปัจจุบันหรืออนาคต
แสดงเงื่อนไขที่น่าจะเป็นไปได้ (possible condition) If he goes to London , he will meet his old friend.
2. TYPE TWO เป็นการสมมติในปัจจุบันที่บอกความสงสัย (doubt)
แสดงเงื่อนไขที่ไม่น่าจะเป็นไปได้ (impossible condition) If I were you , I would go to study abroad.
3. TYPE THREE เป็นการสมมติในอดีต แสดงเงื่อนไขที่ไม่อาจเป็นไปได้เลย และตรงกันข้ามกับความเป็นจริงในอดีต
If I had known your arrival , I would have met you at the airport.
If you had gone to party last night , you would have seen your girlfriend.
