ตอนที่ 7 โมเสสผู้ปลดปล่อยชนชาติของพระเจ้า

มีกษัตริย์องค์ใหม่ขึ้นครองราชสมบัติในประเทศอียิปต์ พระองค์ไม่ได้ทรงรู้จักโยเซฟ และเห็นว่าคนอิสราเอลมีจำนวนมากจึงกลัวว่าจะไปสมทบกับข้าศึกมายึดครองแผ่นดิน เขาจึงตั้งนายงานเกณฑ์ให้คนอิสราเอลทำงานหนัก แต่ชนชาติอิสราเอลก็ยิ่งทวีมากขึ้นอีก (อพยพ 1:8-13)

ฟาโรห์เห็นว่าอิสราเอลมีจำนวนมากขึ้น จึงสั่งให้ฆ่าเด็กชายที่เกิดใหม่ทุกคน แต่โมเสสได้ถูกซ่อนไว้จึงรอดพ้นจากการถูกฆ่า แต่เมื่อซ่อนไว้ต่อไปไม่ได้แล้ว จึงนำโมเสสใส่ตระกร้าสานลอยน้ำไป จนธิดาของฟาโรห์ไปพบเข้า จึงเก็บมาเลี้ยง โดยจ้างหญิงชาวฮีบรู ซึ่งเป็นแม่แท้ๆ ของโมเสส มาเป็นแม่นม

โมเสสจึงได้รับการเลี้ยงดูแบบชาวฮีบรู และได้รับการสอนให้อยู่ในทางของพระเจ้า เมื่อโมเสสเติบโตขึ้น แม่นมก็นำมาถวายพระราชธิดาฟาโรห์ พระนางก็รับเป็นพระราชบุตรของพระนาง (อพยพ 2:1-10)

เมื่อโมเสสเติบใหญ่ขึ้น และได้เห็นพวกพี่น้องชาวฮีบรูต้องทำงานหนัก และถูกคนอียิปต์ทำร้าย จึงเข้าไปช่วยและได้ฆ่าคนอียิปต์ตาย โมเสสกลัวความผิดจึงหนีจากอียิปต์ ไปอาศัยอยู่กับคนมีเดียน ครั้นเวลาล่วงมานาน กษัตริย์อียิปต์ก็สิ้นพระชนม์ (อพยพ 2:11-23)

โมเสสเลี้ยงฝูงแกะ เดินทางไปเรื่อยๆ จนถึงภูเขาของพระเจ้า ทูตของพระเจ้าก็ปรากฏแก่โมเสสท่ามกลางพุ่มไม้เป็นเปลวไฟที่ไม่ไหม้ไฟ เมื่อโมเสสเข้าไปใกล้ พระเจ้าจึงเรียกโมเสส และตรัสว่า "เราเห็นความทุกข์ของประชากรของเราที่อยู่ในประเทศอียิปต์แล้ว เราได้ยินเสียงร้องของเขา เพราะการกดขี่ของพวกนายงาน เรารู้ถึงความทุกข์ร้อนต่างๆ ของเขา เราจึงมาเพื่อจะช่วยเขาให้รอดจากมือชาวอียิปต์ เราจะใช้เจ้าไปเฝ้าฟาโรห์ เพื่อจะได้พาประชากรของเรา คือ ชนชาติอิสราเอล ออกจากอียิปต์" (อพยพ 3:1-10)

2 ภัยพิบัติจากกบ : เจ็ดวันผ่านไป พระเจ้าทรงทำให้ฝูงกบขึ้นมารังควานทั้งเขตแดน ทั้งแม่น้ำไนท์ ในวัง ห้องบรรทม และบนแท่นบรรทม ในเรือนข้าราชการ และในทุกๆ ที่จนเต็มแผ่นดินอียิปต์ แต่ฟาโรห์ก็ยังมีใจแข็งกระด้าง ไม่ยอมปล่อยคนอิสราเอลไป (อพยพ 8:1-14)

3 ภัยพิบัติจากริ้น : พระเจ้าให้อาโรนเอาไม้เท้าตีฝุ่นดินให้กลายเป็นริ้นพัดไปทั่วประเทศอียิปต์ ฝุ่นดินทั้งหมดก็กลายเป็นริ้นทั่วประเทศอียิปต์ แต่พระทัยของฟาโรห์ก็ยังแข็งกระด้าง ไม่ยอมปล่อยคนอิสราเอล (อพยพ 8:15-19)

5 ภัยพิบัติกับฝูงสัตว์ : พระเจ้าทรงกระทำให้ฝูงสัตว์ของคนอียิปต์เป็นโรคระบาดร้ายแรงและตายจนหมด แต่สัตว์ของคนอิสราเอลไม่ตายสักตัว แต่พระทัยของฟาโรห์ยังแข็งกระด้าง ไม่ยอมปล่อยให้ประชากรไป (อพยพ 9:1-7)

6 ภัยพิบัติจากฝี : พระเจ้าให้โมเสสซัดเขม่าจากเตาขึ้นไปในอากาศต่อหน้าฟาโรห์ เขม่านั้นกลายเป็นฝุ่นปลิวไปทั่วแผ่นดินอียิปต์แล้วก็ทำให้เกิดเป็นฝีแตกลามทั่วทั้งตัวคนและสัตว์ ทั่วแผ่นดินอียิปต์ แต่พระทัยของฟาโรห์ก็ยังแข็งกระด้าง (อพยพ 9:8-18)

7 ภัยพิบัติจากลูกเห็บ : พระเจ้าทรงบันดาลให้เกิดลูกเห็บตกอย่างหนักอย่างที่ไม่เคยเกิดมาก่อน จนพืชผัก ต้นไม้ และพืชพันธ์ธัญญาหารทุกอย่างหักโค่นพังเสียหายเป็นอันมาก สัตว์และคนที่มิได้หลบในที่ปลอดภัยก็ถกลูกเห็บทำลาย ส่วนที่เมืองโกเชนที่คนอิสราเอลอยู่ไม่มีลูกเห็บตก แต่ฟาโรห์ก็ยังไม่ยอมปล่อยชนชาติอิสราเอลไป (อพยพ 9:22-26)

8 ภัยพิบัติจากฝูงตั๊กแตน : พระเจ้าบันดาลให้ฝูงตั๊กแตนลงมาเต็มไปหมดจนมองไม้เห็นแผ่นดิน มันกันต้นไม้ทุกต้นที่งอกขึ้นมา ทั้งผัก ผลไม้ มันเข้าไปในราชสำนัก บ้านเรือน จนเต็มหมด แต่ถึงกระนั้นฟาโรห์ก็ยังมีพระทัยแข็งกระด้าง (อพยพ 10:12-15)

9 ภัยพิบัติจากความมืด : พระทรงทำให้เกิดความมืดทั่วแผ่นดินอียิปต์จนขนาดที่เขามองกันไม่เห็น ทุกคนนั่งอยู่กับที่ไม่ลุกไปไหนตลอด 3 วัน แต่ฟาโรห์ยังมีใจแข็งกระด้าง ไม่ยอมปล่อยให้ชนชาติอิสราเอลไป (อพยพ 10:21-29)

10 ภัยพิบัติสุดท้าย มรณกรรมของลูกหัวปี : นี่เป็นภัยพิบัติสุดท้ายที่พระเจ้าจะทำให้เกิดขึ้น คือ บรรดาลูกหัวปีทั้งหมดของอียิปต์จะต้องตาย ตั้งแต่ราชบุตรหัวปีของฟาโรห์ จนถึงบุตรหัวปีของทาส ทั้งลูกหัวปีของสัตว์เดียรัจฉาน และจะมีการร้องไห้ทั่วแผ่นดินอียิปต์อย่างที่ไม่เคยมีมาก่อน แต่บุตรหัวปีทั้งของคนและสัตว์ของอิสราเอลจะปลอดภัย โดยให้อิสราเอลทุกครัวเรือน ฆ่าแกะและเอาเลือดทาไว้ที่วงกบประตูบ้าน (อพยพ 11:1-10, 12:1-13)

ในคืนนั้น หลังจากบุตรหัวปีของฟาโรห์สิ้นแล้ว ฟาโรห์ได้เรียกโมเสสกับอาโรนเข้าไปพบ และบอกให้เขานำประชากรของพระเจ้าทั้งหมดออกไปตามที่ขอไว้
