งานวิจัยอิเล็กทรอนิกส์อุตสาหกรรม (Industrial Electronics Section: RDE4) เป็นกลุ่มงานที่จัดตั้งขึ้นมาตั้งแต่ปี 2536 โดยมีเป้าหมายในการทำวิจัยและพัฒนาเพื่อภาคอุตสาหกรรมต่างๆภายในประเทศ ซึ่งทีมงานภายใจกลุ่มจะมุ่งเน้นการนำเอาเทคโนโลยีทางด้านอิเล็กทรอนิกส์กำลัง ทั้งทางด้านการออกแบบระบบขับเคลื่อนมอเตอร์ไฟฟ้า และระบบแปลงผันพลังงานมาประยุกต์ใช้ โดยที่ผ่านมาได้ร่วมมือกับเอกชนในการพัฒนาระบบขับเคลื่อนและแปลงผันพลังงานในเครื่องจักรกลอัตโนมัติต่างๆ และมีความสนใจงานวิจัยทางด้านการออกแบบมอเตอร์ประสิทธิภาพสูง รวมทั้งอุปกรณ์เพื่อประหยัดพลังงานและอุปกรณ์สำหรับพลังงานทดแทน
