วันที่ 23 ม.ค. ที่จ.สงขลา หน่วยงานราชการต่างๆทั้งภาครัฐและรัฐวิสาหกิจ ในตัวจังหวัดทุกแห่ง กลายเป็นอัมพาตและหยุดงานทั้งหมด รวมทั้งศูนย์ราชการต่างๆที่อยู่ภายในศาลากลางจังหวัด เนื่องจากถูกกลุ่ม กปปส.สงขลา ชัตดาวน์โดยการได้นำโซ่และกุญแจไปล๊อคประตูและให้หยุดงานต่อเนื่อง 3 วัน ซึ่งเป็นปฏิบัติการชัตดาวน์คู่ขนานไปกรุงเทพฯ ส่งผลให้ข้าราชการหน่วยงานต่างๆจำเป็นต้องหยุดงานเพื่อความปลอดภัยและลดการเผชิญหน้า ยกเว้นโรงพยาบาล ซึ่งจะต้องปฏิบัติหน้าที่ในการดูแลผู้ป่วยและประชาชน รวมทั้งสถานีตำรวจที่จะต้องปฏิบัติหน้าที่ดูแลความสงบเรียบร้อยและรักษาความปลอดภัย

นอกจากนี้ ยังมีส่วนราชการอีกหลายอำเภอเช่นอ.หาดใหญ่ อ.สะเดา ที่หยุดงานเช่นเดียวกัน
