ลักษณะทางภูมิศาสตร์

มีจำนวนประชากรประมาณ 5.08 ล้านคน เป็นประเทศที่มีประชากรหนาแน่นมากที่สุดเป็นอันดับ 2 ของโลก และประชากรก็มีความหลากหลายของเชื้อชาติ ซึ่งส่วนใหญ่จะเป็นชาวจีน รองลงมาจะเป็นชาวมาเลย์ และชาวอินเดีย



การเมืองการปกครอง

สิงคโปร์ปกครองโดยระบอบประชาธิปไตยแบบรัฐสภา มีประธานาธิบดีเป็นประมุขของรัฐ (มีวาระดำรงตำแหน่ง 6 ปี) มีรัฐธรรมนูญเป็นกฎหมายสูงสุด และแบ่งอำนาจการปกครองออกเป็น 3 ส่วน คือ สภาบริหาร รัฐสภา และสภาตุลาการ

*ในช่วงสงครามโลกครั้งที่ 2 สิงคโปร์ตกเป็นเมืองขึ้นของญี่ปุ่นแต่หลังจากสิ้นสุดสงคราม สิงคโปร์ก็กลายเป็นเมืองขึ้นของอังกฤษอีกครั้ง
