การวิจัยครั้งนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงพรรณนา มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาภาวะสุขภาพจิตของผู้สูงอายุ ในเขตพื้นที่ตำบลทรายขาว อ.สอยดาว จ.จันทบุรี กลุ่มตัวอย่างในการศึกษาครั้งนี้คือผู้ที่มีอายุตั้งแต่ 60 ปีขึ้นไปทั้งเพศหญิงและเพศชายที่มีชื่อในทะเบียนบ้านและอาศัยอยู่จริงในเขตพื้นที่ตำบลทรายขาว อำเภอสอยดาว จังหวัดจันทบุรี จำนวน 366 คน โดยใช้วิธีการสุ่มอย่างง่าย เก็บข้อมูลด้วยแบบสอบถาม สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลได้แก่ความถี่ ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย และส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน
