ในการศึกษาครั้งนี้ได้ทำการหาค่าประสิทธิผลโดยรวมของหุ่นยนต์ทั้งหมด 2 เครื่อง คือ หุ่นยนต์รีดแผ่นโฟมกันน้ำซึ่งติดตั้งอยู่ฝั่งซ้ายของไลน์การผลิต (TDL14LS) และที่ติดตั้งอยู่ฝั่งขวาของไลน์การผลิต (TDL14RN) โดยเริ่มทำการเก็บข้อมูลก่อนการปรับปรุงตั้งแต่วันที่ 7 – 18 สิงหาคม พ.ศ. 2558 เป็นจำนวน 10 วัน จากนั้นทำการคำนวณหาค่าประสิทธิผลโดยรวมของหุ่นยนต์ก่อนการปรับปรุงแล้วนำข้อมูลที่ได้มาวิเคราะห์หาปัญหาที่สำคัญที่สุดโดยใช้แผนภูมิพาเรโต (Pareto chart) และวิเคราะห์หาสาเหตุที่แท้จริงโดยใช้แผนภูมิก้างปลา (Fish bone Diagram) ซึ่งพบว่าปัญหาหลักที่ทำให้เกิดความสูญเสียมากที่สุดคือ ประตูผิดตำแหน่ง ซึ่งแนวทางการปรับปรุงนั้นทางผู้จัดทำได้เลือกการปรับปรุงให้เหมาะกับทางบริษัทฯ ซึ่งประกอบไปด้วย การปรับปรุงที่วางประตู และการปรับปรุงระยะการจับประตู จากนั้นได้ทำการเก็บข้อมูลหลังการปรับปรุงระหว่างวันที่ 3 – 10 พฤศจิกายน พ.ศ. 2558 และคำนวณหาประสิทธิผลโดยรวมของหุ่นยนต์หลังการปรับปรุง แล้วทำการเปรียบเทียบผล
