การวิจัยในครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาและเปรียบเทียบต้นทุนและผลตอบแทนของการปลูกข้าว และการตลาด ของข้าวที่ปลูกแบบเกษตรอินทรีย์กับข้าวที่ปลูกแบบเกษตรเคมี ในชุมชนเศรษฐกิจพอเพียงบ้านดอกบัว จังหวัดพะเยา ประชากรที่ศึกษาคือเกษตรกรที่ปลูกข้าวในชุมชนจำนวน 130 ราย แบ่งเป็นเกษตรกรปลูกข้าวแบบเกษตรอินทรีย์ 89 ราย และแบบเกษตรเคมี 41 ราย เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการเก็บข้อมูลคือแบบสัมภาษณ์และการสนทนากลุ่ม ข้อมูลปริมาณใช้การวิเคราะห์สถิติเชิงพรรณนา โดยวิเคราะห์ค่าสถิติคือ ค่าเฉลี่ย (mean) ค่าร้อยละ (percentage) และค่าความถี่ (frequency) และการศึกษาข้อมูลเชิงคุณภาพใช้การวิเคราะห์เนื้อหา
