การวิจัยครั้งนี้ เป็นการวิจัยเชิงอนาคตแบบผสานวิธี โดยเทคนิคการวิจัยแบบ EDFR (Ethnographic Delphi Future Research)สอบถามความเห็นของกลุ่มผู้เชี่ยวชาญ จำนวน 32 คน ถึงแนวโน้มเกี่ยวกับเกี่ยวกับการอาชีวศึกษาเอกชนไทยที่พึงประสงค์ เหมาะสมและเป็นไปได้ในอนาคต ใน 4 ด้าน คือ การมุ่งสร้าง/ผลิตกำลังคนด้านอาชีวศึกษาให้ตอบสนองความต้องการของตลาด การพัฒนาครูอาชีวศึกษายุคใหม่ การพัฒนาสถานอาชีวศึกษา และแหล่งเรียนรู้ใหม่ และการพัฒนาคุณภาพการบริหารอาชีวศึกษายุคใหม่ เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย เป็นแบบสัมภาษณ์ และแบบสอบถาม
