กลอยเป็นพืชสมุนไพรที่มีประโยชน์หลากหลาย ในปัจจุบันกลอยเริ่มหายาก เพาะว่ามีการบุกรุกทำลายป่า ทำให้ปริมาณกลอยเริ่มสูญพันธุ์ การใช้เทคนิคการเพาะเลี้ยงเนื้อเยื่อ จึงทำมาใช้ เพิ่มปริมาณต้นกลอยให้ได้จำนวนมากขึ้น จากการศึกษาผลของอาหารสูตร Murashige and Skoog (1962) ร่วมกับ Naphthalene Acetic Acid (NAA) และ N6- Benzyl amino purine (BA) โดยใช้ชิ้นส่วนปลายยอด ในการฟอกฆ่าเชื้อ การฟอกฆ่าเชื้อชิ้นส่วนปลายยอดของกลอยด้วย Ethyl alcohol 70 เปอร์เซ็นต์ นาน 2 นาที ล้างด้วยน้ำกลั่นนึ่งฆ่าเชื้อแล้ว 1 ครั้ง แล้วฟอกด้วยคลอร็อกซ์เข้มข้น 10% นาน 10 นาที ล้างด้วยน้ำกลั่นนึ่งฆ่าเชื้อแล้ว 3 ครั้ง นำชิ้นส่วนมาเลี้ยงบนอาหารสูตร MS ที่เติม NAA ระดับความเข้มข้น 0, 0.2 และ 0.4 มิลลิกรัมต่อลิตร ร่วมกับ BA ระดับความเข้มข้น 0, 2 และ 4 มิลลิกรัมต่อลิตร เพื่อการแตกยอด ใบ และความยาวยอด พบว่า ชิ้นส่วนที่เลี้ยงบนอาหารสูตรMS ที่ไม่เติมสารควบคุมการเจริญเติบโต และบนอาหารสูตร MS ที่เติม NAA ระดับความเข้มข้น 0.2 มิลลิกรัมต่อลิตร ร่วมกับ BA ระดับความเข้มข้น 2 มิลลิกรัมต่อลิตร มีคะแนนการแตกยอดเฉลี่ยสูงสุดเท่ากับ 2.66 คะแนน ส่วนบนอาหารสูตร MS ที่ไม่เติมสารควบคุมการเจริญเติบโต พบว่า สามารถชักนำให้ชิ้นส่วนปลายยอดของกลอยมีความยาวยอดเฉลี่ยสูงสุด คือ 6.83 เซนติเมตร และมีจำนวนใบเฉลี่ยงสูงสุด 11.33 ใบ
