ชีวิตของคนกรุงเทพเป็นชีวิตที่ต้องหาเช้ากินค่ำ ปากกันตีนถีบ เพื่อให้ตัวเอง และครอบครัวมีชีวิตรอดในแต่ละวัน ผมก็เป็นคนหนึ่งที่เข้ามาใช้ชีวิตอยู่ในกรุงเทพ มาเป็นเวลา 10 กว่าปีแล้ว ชีวิตก็สาละวนในการทำมาหาเลี้ยงชีพ เลี้ยงปากท้องตนเอง และครอบครัว เป็นมนุษย์เงินเดือนเต็มขั้น ตลอดระยะเวลา ผมอยู่ที่ทำงานมากกว่าอยู่ที่บ้าน โดยให้เหตุผลเข้าข้างตัวเองว่าเพื่อจะได้มีอนาคตที่ดีขึ้น เมื่อผลงานดี ผู้บังคับบัญชาก็ย่อมจะพอใจ เมื่อผู้บังคับพอใจก็อาจจะได้รับการปรับค่าจ้างให้สูงขึ้น ตัวผมและครอบครัวก็จะได้มีความสุขมากขึ้น? นอกจากทำงานประจำแล้วผมก็ยังทำอาชีพค้าขาย เป็นอาชีพเสริม เพื่อที่จะมีรายได้มาเลี้ยงครอบครัวให้มากขึ้นกว่าที่เป็นอยู่ ทุกๆ วัน ผมจะต้องตื่นตี 3 เพื่อมาเตรียมสิ่งที่จะขาย พอได้เวลาก็นำไปขายที่ตลาดในตอนเช้า หลังจากขายเสร็จก็ต้องรีบไปทำงานให้ทันเวลา 8 โมงเช้า กว่าจะเลิกงานก็ประมาณ 6 โมงเย็น หรือไม่ก็ 2 ทุ่ม บ้างครั้งถ้ามีงานมากก็เลิกงานถึง 4 ทุ่ม หลังเลิกงานก็ยังหอบงานกลับมาทำที่บ้านอีก ขณะเดียวกันต้องจัดเตรียมอุปกรณ์การขายให้พร้อม เพื่อที่จะได้ร่นเวลาให้เร็วขึ้นในตอนเช้า กว่าจะเข้านอนได้ก็เกือบเที่ยงคืน ผมใช้ชีวิตอย่างนี้เป็นประจำทุกวันจนบางครั้งรู้สึกท้อ และเครียดมาก ครอบครัวก็ไม่มีความสุขไปด้วย แต่ก็ใช้วิธีปลอบใจกับตัวเองเสมอว่า ความพยายามอยู่ที่ไหน ความสำเร็จอยู่ที่นั้น ต้องอดทน เพื่อจะได้มีอนาคตที่ดี
