ใน พ.ศ. 2478 เป็นครั้งแรกที่โรงเรียนได้ส่งนักเรียนจำนวน 3 คน เข้าสอบชั้นประโยคบริบูรณ์ (ม.8) ของกระทรวงศึกษาธิการ เป็นนักเรียนจากกลุ่มฝรั่งเศส 2 คน กลุ่มอังกฤษ 1 คน กลุ่มฝรั่งเศสสอบได้คะแนน ยอดเยี่ยม ได้รับรางวัลจากสถานทูตฝรั่งเศส และสอบเข้าศึกษาต่อในคณะอักษรศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัยได้ด้วย
