อาเซียนหรือ สมาคมประชาชาติแห่งเอเชี

อาเซียนหรือ สมาคมประชาชาติแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ (ASEAN : The Association of South East Asian Nations)
ได้ก่อตั้งเมื่อวันที่ 8 สิงหาคม พ.ศ.2510 โดยประเทศผู้ก่อตั้งอาเซียน คือ ไทย อินโดนีเซีย มาเลเซีย ฟิลิปปินส์ และสิงคโปร์
ต่อมาในปีพ.ศ.2527 บรูไน ดารุสซาลาม ได้เข้ามาเป็นสมาชิก ตามด้วยเวียดนามเข้ามาเป็นสมาชิกเมื่อ พ.ศ. 2538
ขณะที่พม่าและลาวเข้ามาเป็นสมาชิกใน พ.ศ.2540 และประเทศสุดท้ายคือกัมพูชา เข้าเป็นสมาชิกอาเซียน เมื่อ พ.ศ. 2542
ปัจจุบันอาเซียนมีประเทศสมาชิกทั้งหมด 10 ประเทศ



ในปี พ.ศ. 2558 อาเซียนได้วางแนวทางก้าวไปสู่ประชาคมอาเซียนอย่างสมบูรณ์ ภายใต้คำขวัญคือ
"หนึ่งวิสัยทัศน์ หนึ่งเอกลักษณ์ หนึ่งประชาคม" (One Vision, One Identity, One Community)
โดยมุ่งเน้นไปที่ 3 ประชาคม คือ ประชาคมการเมืองและความมั่นคงอาเซียน (ASEAN Political Security Community : APSC)
ประชาคมเศรษฐกิจอาเซียน (ASEAN Economic Community : AEC)
ประชาคมสังคมและวัฒนธรรมอาเซียน (ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community : ASCC)
