การศึกษาความต้องการและแนวทางการแก้ไขปัญหาสิ่งแวดล้อมในชุมชนโดยชุมชน บ้านดอนบมตำบลแวงน่าง อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดมหาสารคาม มีวัตถุประสงค์ 1) เพื่อศึกษาความคิดเห็นของชาวบ้านต่อระดับปัญหาสิ่งแวดล้อมในชุมชน 2) เพื่อศึกษาความต้องการในการแก้ไขปัญหาสิ่งแวดล้อมที่เกิดขึ้นในชุมชน 3) เพื่อศึกษาความคิดเห็นของชาวบ้านต่อแนวทางในการแก้ไขปัญหาสิ่งแวดล้อมในชุมชนบ้านดอนบม โดยศึกษาจากประชากรที่เป็นชาวบ้านในชุมชนบ้านดอนบม 225 ครัวเรือน กลุ่มตัวอย่างจำนวน 20 คน จากการเลือกกลุ่มตัวอย่างแบบเจาะจงครัวเรือนละ1 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย คือ แบบสอบถาม สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล คือ ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย และส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน ผลจากการศึกษา พบว่า กลุ่มตัวอย่างในชุมชนบ้านดอนบมมีความคิดเห็นโดยรวมต่อระดับปัญหาสิ่งแวดล้อมในชุมชนอยู่ในระดับเห็นด้วย (=2.61) และมีความต้องการให้แก้ไขปัญหาสิ่งแวดล้อมในชุมชนโดยรวมอยู่ในระดับน้อย (=2.55) เมื่อจำแนกตามด้านของปัญหาสิ่งแวดล้อมที่เกิดขึ้นในชุมชน พบว่า ปัญหาที่กลุ่มตัวอย่างในชุมชนบ้านดอนบมต้องการแก้ไขมากที่สุด คือ ปัญหาน้ำเสีย (=2.90) รองลงมาคือ ปัญหาขยะมูลฝอย (=2.80) ส่วนด้านต้องการแก้ไขน้อยสุดคือ ปัญหามลพิษทางเสียง (=2.15) ส่วนความคิดเห็นของกลุ่มตัวอย่างต่อแนวทางในการแก้ไขปัญหาสิ่งแวดล้อมในชุมชน พบว่า กลุ่มตัวอย่างมีความเห็นด้วยต่อแนวทางการแก้ไขปัญหาดังนี้ 1) ปัญหาน้ำเสียแก้ไขในชุมชนด้วยวิธีการขุดร่องระบายน้ำทิ้งในชุมชน (=2.65) 2) ปัญหาขยะมูลฝอยแก้ไขด้วยวิธีreuseนำของที่ใช้แล้วมาคัดแปลงใช้ใหม่ให้เกิดประโยชน์ (=2.70) 3) ปัญหามลพิษทางอากาศ/ฝุ่นละอองแก้ไขด้วยวิธีซ่อมแซมถนนที่ชำรุดของชุมชน (=3.00) และ 4) ปัญหามลพิษทางเสียงแก้ไขด้วยวิธีจัดให้มีการรณรงค์ให้ชาวบ้านรู้ถึงอันตรายของมลพิษทางเสียง (=2.60)
