เหตุผลที่ไม่ควรยึดติดทฤษฎีมากเกินไป
ทุกวันนี้เราอยู่ในยุคที่มี “ชุดความคิด” กันมากมาย ไม่ว่าจะเป็นเทคนิคต่างๆ นานา ทฤษฏีใหม่ๆ อย่างเช่นการตลาดยุคดิจิทัล ไหนจะตำราหรืองานวิจัยใหม่ๆ ที่ล้วนกลายเป็นองค์ความรู้ของคนยุคใหม่ที่ใครๆ ก็เข้าถึงกันได้ง่าย มีการอบรมและเผยแพร่ความรู้กันอย่างกว้างขวางกว่าสมัยก่อน จึงไม่แปลกที่นับวันเราจะมีทฤษฏีและแนวความคิดมากมายเพื่อนำมาประกอบในการคิดพิจารณาต่างๆ
แต่ก็นั่นแหละที่ผมมักพบอยู่บ่อยๆ คือการที่บางคนประสบปัญหากับการคิดและทำงานแบบที่ผมมักเรียกว่าติดหล่ม กล่าวคือไปไหนไม่ได้ บ้างก็ภายเรือวนในอ่าง บ้างก็กลายเป็นประเภทท่องทำสูตรและต้องให้มันได้ตามสูตรนั้นเป๊ะๆ ไม่สามารถพลิกแพลงเป็นอย่างอื่นๆ ซึ่งกลายเป็นว่าภาวะติดหล่มนี้แหละที่สร้างปัญหาให้กับคนทำงานด้วยอยู่พอสมควร รวมไปถึงตัวเองอีกด้วย
สิ่งที่เกิดขึ้นนี้ส่วนหนึ่งเพราะเรามักมีทัศนคติกันว่าความรู้ต่างๆ นั้นคือเครื่องคุ้มกันและสร้างความมั่นคงให้กับเรา ประเภทที่ความรู้นี้จะทำให้ชั้นประสบความสำเร็จ หรือทฤษฏีนี้คือรูปแบบที่จะทำให้งานของชั้นเวิร์ค และเมื่อทำต่อเนื่องกันไปเรื่อยก็กลายเป็นการล้างสมองตัวเองประเภทต้องเข้าขนบแบบนี้เท่านั้น ไม่งั้นไม่ใช่

สมัยผมเรียนเขียนบทละครนั้น เราก็มีสูตรของการเขียนบทละครที่เป็นรูปแบบหลักๆ อยู่ ประเภทฉากแรกต้องเป็นอย่างไร ฉากที่สองจะต้องรับไม้จากฉากแรกอย่างไร ความขัดแย้งจะต้องเป็นแบบใครกับใคร ฯลฯ ซึ่งคนเรียนเขียนบทนั้นควรจะเขียนบทออกมาให้ได้อย่างนั้นเพื่อจะได้เรียกว่าเป็นบทที่ดี
ฟังๆ ดูแล้วผมว่าหลายๆ คนเองก็อาจจะพอนึกออกว่ามันคือสูตรสำเร็จประเภทที่เราจะเห็นได้จากหนังหลายๆ เรื่อง หรือแม้แต่กับละครที่เราดูกันอยู่คุ้นเคยนั่นแหละครับ
ในวันนั้น ผมค่อนข้างสงสัยและตั้งคำถามอยู่เสมอว่าทำไมเราต้องทำตามสูตรเหล่านี้ เราจะสามารถเขียนบทโดยไม่เดินตามสูตรเหล่านี้ไม่ได้เลยหรือ บทที่ดีจะสามารถออกจากหลักการแบบนี้ได้หรือไม่ ซึ่งต้องยอมรับว่าการพยายามหาคำตอบนั้นเป็นอะไรที่ผมครุ่นคิดอยู่พอสมควร พอๆ กับที่ตัวเองก็รู้สึกแย่อยู่เหมือนกันที่เวลาเขียนบทแล้วไม่สามารถนึกงานให้ตามสูตรดังกล่าวได้
จนวันหนึ่งผมได้เอาความหนักใจนี้คุยกับรศ.ดร. สดใส พันธุมโกล (ซึ่งตอนนั้นเป็นอาจารย์สอนวิชาสารนิพนธ์ที่ผมเลือกทำโปรเจคการเขียนบทเพื่อจบการศึกษา) แล้วก็ได้รับคำพูดหนึ่งที่เป็นคำติดปากที่ผมเอาไปใช้บอกคนอื่นเช่นเดียวกับหลักในชีวิตของผมอยู่เสมอ
“แก่ต้องเอาทฤษฎีมาเป็นพาหนะ ไม่ใช่เอามันมาเป็นภาระ”
ผมว่าคำพูดข้างต้นเป็นอะไรที่เรียบง่ายแต่มันเป็นแก่นของการศึกษาที่แท้จริงของเราเลยก็ว่าได้

จากคำพูดดังกล่าวนั้น ผมมักพูดบ่อยๆ ว่าเราควรทำความเข้าใจทฤษฏีหรือแนวคิดต่างๆ ว่ามันมีขึ้นมาเพื่อพาเราไปสู่เป้าหมายอะไร และเราจะใช้มันได้อย่างไรในความเป็นจริง จะสามารถปรับเปลี่ยนอะไรได้ไหม ทำอย่างไรให้มันดีขึ้นหรือเข้ากับสถานการณ์ของเรา ไม่ใช่เอามาเป็นหลักประเภทที่บิดงอไม่ได้ ปรับเปลี่ยนอะไรไม่ได้ แล้วสุดท้ายก็ไม่สามารถนำมาใช้จริงๆ กับสถานการณ์ที่อยู่ตรงหน้าได้ ซึ่งพอเป็นแบบนั้นตัวทฤษฏีเองนั่นแหละที่จะกลายเป็นภาระสร้างปัญหาให้กับตัวคุณเองโดยไม่รู้ตัว
เหมือนกับที่เรามักพบบ่อยๆ ว่าเราเจอหลักการต่างๆ มากมายที่เอามาตั้งแล้วสุดท้ายกลายเป็นตีกรอบจนทำอะไรไม่ได้ บ้างก็กลายเป็นว่าหลักการขัดแย้งในตัวเองเลยก็มี
บางทีแล้ว ชีวิตคนเรามีความรู้มากมายที่สะสมกันมา หลักการและทฤษฏีต่างๆ มีมหาศาลให้ค้นคว้าและเรียนรู้ ผมเองนั้นอ่านหนังสือมาเยอะก็มีหลักการและแนวคิดมากมายที่น่าสนใจ แต่ก็ใช่ว่าทุกอย่างจะไปทางเดียวกันเพราะบางแนวคิดก็เรียกว่าคิดสวนทางกันเลยก็มี มันเลยต้องหัดคิดกันบ่อยๆ ว่าเราจะยึดมันเป๊ะๆ ตามตัวอักษรไม่ได้หรอก
