และได้จัดตั้งห้องปฏิบัติการวิจัยสิ่งประดิษฐ์สารกึ่งตัวนำขึ้นเป็นแห่งแรก และทำการศึกษา วิจัยเกี่ยวกับเซลแสงอาทิตย์ได้ทำการผลิตและค้นคว้าการใช้งาน ทั้งยังศึกษาวิจัย สารประกอบกึ่งตัวนำในการประยุกต์ใช้เลเซอร์ในกระบวนการกึ่งตัวนำ ซึ่งในการศึกษาค้นคว้าผลงานเป็นที่ยอมรับและเป็นที่สนใจเป็นอย่างมาก จนได้รับรางวัลจากหน่วยงานต่างๆ เช่น คณะกรรมการการวิจัยแห่งชาติ ในปี พ.ศ.2529 ได้รับรางวัลผลงานวิจัยดีเด่นในหัวข้อ เรื่อง “ เซลล์แสงอาทิตย์”
