โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อปลูกฝังและสร้างจิตสำนึกให้แก่เยาวชนและชาวบ้านในชุมชนในการอนุรักษ์เต่าทะเลและแหล่งวางไข่ ในช่วง20ปีที่ผ่านมามีการวางไข่ของเต่าทะเลบริเวณหาดท้ายเหมืองทั้งหมด4ชนิด ถือได้ว่าเป็นชายหาดเพียงแห่งเดียวที่มีการขึ้นวางไข่ของเต่าทะเลทั้ง4ชนิด ในพื้นเดียวกันและมีการจัดเจ้าหน้าที่ออกลาดตระเวนเต่าในฤดูวางไข่ เพื่อป้องกันไม่ให้มีการลักลอบขุดหาไข่เต่าและมีงานเคลื่อนย้ายไข่เต่าไปยังที่ปลอดภัยและปล่อยคืนลงสู่ทะเลไป
