มีระเบียบวิธีวิจัยโดยใช้รูปแบบการวิจัยแบบผสมผสาน ประชากร คือ พนักงานระดับต่าง ๆ ของการท่าเรือแห่งประเทศไทย ณ ท่าเรือกรุงเทพ และ ท่าเรือแหลมฉบัง จำนวน 2,410 คน ได้กลุ่มตัวอย่าง จำนวน 855 คน โดยวิเคราะห์เชิงพรรณนาสำหรับสถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ได้แก่ ค่าความถี่ ค่าร้อยละค่าเฉลี่ย และค่าเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน สัมภาษณ์ผู้เชี่ยวชาญหรือผู้ให้ข้อมูลหลัก โดยใช้แบบสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกจำนวน 9 คน
ผลการวิจัยพบว่า (1) การท่าเรือแห่งประเทศไทยมีปัญหาในการบริหารจัดการตามปรัชญาของเศรษฐกิจพอเพียงอยู่ระดับปานกลาง ( = 1.87, SD=.634) (2) แนวทางการพัฒนาการบริหารจัดการด้านการวางแผนของการท่าเรือแห่งประเทศไทยตามปรัชญาของเศรษฐกิจพอเพียง อยู่ระดับปานกลาง ( = 2.01, SD=.339) (3) ปัจจัยที่มีส่วนสำคัญทำให้การบริหารจัดการของการท่าเรือแห่งประเทศไทยตามปรัชญาของเศรษฐกิจพอเพียงประสบผลสำเร็จ
อยู่ระดับปานกลาง ( = 2.00, SD=.487) ได้แก่ (3.1) ด้านปัจจัยภายใน โดยรวมอยู่ระดับปานกลาง ( = 1.96, SD=.582) และ (3.2) ด้านปัจจัยภายนอก โดยรวมอยู่ระดับปานกลาง ( = 2.05, SD=.522)
