การศึกษาค้นคว้าเรื่องดินหอมปรับอากาศ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาและทดสอบประสิทธิภาพของดินหอมปรับอากาศ ตัวแปรที่ใช้ในการศึกษา ได้แก่ ตัวแปรต้น คือ ชนิดของดอกไม้และพืชที่นำมาสกัด ตัวแปรตาม คือความคงทนของกลิ่น และตัวแปรควบคุม คือ ภาชนะที่บรรจุ กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ คือ นักเรียนโรงเรียนสตรีวิทยา ชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 2 ห้อง 9 จำนวน 10 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการศึกษา คือ แบบสอบถาม สถิติที่ใช้ ได้แก่ ค่าร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย และค่าส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน

จากผลการศึกษา พบว่า
1. กลิ่นสกัดจากดอกไม้และพืชที่ปรับอากาศได้ดีที่สุด คือ ดอกมะลิ รองลงมา คือ ดอกจำปี กุหลาบและมะกรูดตามลำดับ
2. กลิ่นสกัดจากดอกไม้และพืชที่อยู่ได้นานที่สุด คือ มะกรูด รองลงมา คือ ดอกมะลิ จำปีและกุหลาบตามลำดับ
