Once the vegetable waste has been generated, daily collection is
proposed in order to avoid any change in the nutritional composition
or the production of undesirable substances. Otherwise,
the fast degradation of these by-products due to their high
water content would make them unsuitable for use as raw
materials for animal feed. Due to its lower water content, some
vegetable waste, such as bread by-products, could be stored for
longer periods with no decrease in quality.
