อุทยานแห่งชาติเขาชะเมา-เขาวง มีพื้นที่ประมาณ 52,300 ไร่ หรือ 83.68 ตารางกิโลเมตร ครอบคลุมพื้นที่อำเภอแกลง อำเภอเขาชะเมา จังหวัดระยอง และ อำเภอท่าใหม่ จังหวัดจันทบุรี ได้รับการประกาศจัดตั้งให้เป็นอุทยานแห่งชาติ เมื่อวันที่ 31 ธันวาคม พ.ศ.2518 เป็นอุทยานฯ ลำดับที่ 13 ของประเทศไทย
