สถานสงเคราะห์เด็กพิการทางสมองและปัญญา(หญิง) เปิดดำเนินการมาตั้งแต่ปีพุทธศักราช 2540 โดยแยกออกจากสถานสงเคราะห์เด็กพิการทางสมองและปัญญา เนื่องจากเด็กมีจำนวนเพิ่มมากขึ้น เกิดปัญหาความแออัดและยากต่อการดูแล

กรมประชาสงเคราะห์(เดิม) จึงอนุมัติให้แยกการดูแลออกเป็นสถานสงเคราะห์สำหรับเด็กชาย และเด็กหญิงซึ่งมีความบกพร่องทางสมองและปัญญา

ตั้งอยู่เลขที่ 78/15 หมู่ที่ 1 ตำบลบางตลาด อำเภอปากเกร็ด จังหวัดนนทบุรี เป็นที่ดินราชพัสดุโดยมีเนื้อที่ทั้งสิ้น 27 ไร่เศษ การก่อสร้างอาคาร สิ่งก่อสร้างต่างๆ ได้รับการบริจาคเงินและการสนับสนุนจากภาคเอกชน องค์กร ตลอดจนประชาชนผู้มีจิตศรัทธาทั่วไป จึงสามารถเปิดดำเนินการได้ตั้งแต่วันที่ 20 ตุลาคม 2540 เป็นต้นมา

สถานสงเคราะห์เด็กพิการทางสมองและปัญญา(หญิง) มีภารกิจหลักในการให้การเลี้ยงดูเด็กหญิงอายุระหว่าง 7-18 ปี ที่มีความบกพร่องทางสมองและปัญญา โดยจัดให้มีบริการด้านปัจจัยสี่ บริการทางการแพทย์ การรักษาพยาบาล การสังคมสงเคราะห์การศึกษาพิเศษ ตลอดจนจัดกิจกรรมเพื่อฟื้นฟูสมรรถภาพทั้งทางร่างกาย อารมณ์ สังคม และจิตใจ เพื่อให้เด็กในความอุปการะสามารถดำเนินชีวิตได้อย่างทัดเทียมกับบุคคลอื่น มีความสุขตามอัตภาพ

ปัจจุบันนี้สถานสงเคราะห์ฯให้การอุปการะเลี้ยงดูเด็กหญิงจำนวน 524 คน (ข้อมูล ณ วันที่ 30 มกราคม 2558)
