ในการเสด็จพระราชดำเนินไปทรงเยี่ยมราษฎรตามท้องที่ต่างๆ ทุกครั้ง จะทรงพระกรุณาโปรดเกล้าฯ ให้มีคณะแพทย์ที่ประกอบด้วย ผู้เชี่ยวชาญในแต่ละสาขาจากโรงพยาบาลต่างๆ และล้วนเป็นอาสาสมัครทั้งสิ้น โดยเสด็จพระราชดำเนินไปในขบวนอย่างใกล้ชิด พร้อมด้วยเวชภัณฑ์และเครื่องมือแพทย์ครบครัน พร้อมที่จะให้การรักษาพยาบาลราษฎร ผู้ป่วยไข้ได้ทันที

โครงการศัลยแพทย์อาสาราชวิทยาลัยศัลยแพทย์แห่งประเทศไทย
