หนุ่มอังกฤษวัย 38 ปี จิตสำนึกดีช่วยเหลือสังคม สมัครเป็นอาสากู้ภัย จ.พิษณุโลก โดยไม่หวังผลตอบแทน หลังประทับใจกู้ภัยคนไทยที่เคยช่วยเหลือเพื่อนรักที่เสียชีวิตไปเมื่อ 4 ปีที่แล้ว

เมื่อวันที่ 20 ตุลาคม 2558 ผู้สื่อข่าวรายงานว่า พบเรื่องราวน่าชื่นชมของ หนุ่มชาวอังกฤษรายหนึ่ง ชื่อ นายอดัม เดลตัน อายุ 38 ปี เป็นอาสาสมาคมกู้ภัยข่าวภาพ พิษณุโลก คอยช่วยเหลือประชาชนที่เดือดร้อน

นายอดัม เล่าว่า ตอนแรกตนเองมีอาชีพธุรกิจรับเหมาก่อสร้าง และได้เดินทางมาท่องเที่ยวในประเทศไทย เนื่องจากหลงใหลเสน่ห์ธรรมชาติอันสวยงามตามจังหวัดต่าง ๆ เป็นเวลานานกว่า 10 ปี จนกระทั่งมาพบรักกับหญิงไทย ที่ จ.พิษณุโลก ปัจจุบันมีอาชีพในประเทศไทย เป็นอาจารย์สอนภาษาที่มหาวิทยาลัยนเรศวร และสอนพิเศษในโรงเรียนเอกชน

ส่วนสาเหตุที่ตนเลือกมาเป็นอาสาสมัครกู้ภัย เนื่องจาก 4 ปีที่แล้ว ตนและเพื่อนผู้ชายได้พากันไปท่องเที่ยวที่หาดบางแสน จ.ชลบุรี แต่ระหว่างนั้นเพื่อนของตนประสบอุบัติเหตุถูกรถยนต์ชนจนได้รับบาดเจ็บ และได้มีเจ้าหน้าที่กู้ภัยมาให้ความช่วยเหลือก่อนนำส่งโรงพยาบาล แต่สุดท้ายเพื่อนของตนก็เสียชีวิตที่โรงพยาบาล ซึ่งตนรู้สึกเศร้าเสียใจมากที่เสียเพื่อนรักไปและประทับใจการทำงานของเจ้าหน้าที่กู้ภัยคนไทยที่ช่วยเหลืออย่างเต็มความสามารถ ตนจึงคิดอยากทำงานเป็นอาสาสมัครกู้ภัยเพื่อตอบแทนสังคมและคนไทยที่เคยช่วยเหลือเพื่อนของตน

ด้านนายสุริยา นิลเนตร หัวหน้าสมาคมกู้ภัยข่าวภาพ เล่าถึงความประทับใจในอาสาสมัครชาวอังกฤษรายนี้ว่า อดัมทำหน้าที่ในการเป็นกู้ภัยอย่างดีและมีจิตสำนึกในการช่วยเหลือคนอื่น หากว่างจากงานประจำก็จะทุ่มเทให้กับงานกู้ภัย ช่วยเหลือสังคมโดยไม่หวังผลตอบแทน และเป็นเรื่องดี รวมทั้งการที่อดัมสามารถสื่อสารภาษาอังกฤษและภาษาไทยได้ ทำให้มีประโยชน์อย่างมากเมื่อมีชาวต่างชาติมาขอความช่วยเหลือ
