ขยะเป็นปัญหาสิ่งแวดล้อมที่สำคัญมาก ทั้งในชีวิตประจำวัน การจัดงานหรือการจัดกิจกรรมต่าง ๆ ย่อมก่อให้เกิดขยะอย่างหลีกเลี่ยงไม่ได้ ซึ่งหากไม่มีการจัดการที่ดี ก็ก่อให้เกิดปัญหาต่าง ๆ ตามมาได้ สโมสรนิสิตคณะสิ่งแวดล้อม คณะสิ่งแวดล้อมเล็งเห็นความสำคัญจึงได้ดำเนินการอย่างต่อเนื่องภายใต้ “โครงการธนาคารขยะ” ตั้งแต่ปี พ.ศ. 2559 จนถึงปัจจุบัน ซึ่งได้เป็นโครงการต้นแบบการจัดการขยะครบวงจรที่ประสบความสำเร็จ สอดคล้องกับเป้าหมายการพัฒนาอย่างยั่งยืน เป้าหมายที่ 11 เมืองและชุมชนยั่งยืน เพื่อให้มีการคัดแยกขยะ นำขยะมาใช้ให้คุ้มค่า และลดปริมาณขยะที่จะส่งไปกำจัด และเป้าหมายที่ 13 การรับมือกับการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศโดยลดการปลดปล่อยแก๊สเรือนกระจกจากการจัดการขยะ จึงนำมาสู่การนำไปปรับใช้ในงานกิจกรรมต่างๆได้แก่ งาน Sustainability Expo 2022 และ 2023 และกิจกรรมงานพระราชทานปริญญาบัตร คณะสิ่งแวดล้อม มหาวิทยาลัยเกษตรศาสตร์
