Ranger’s body found in rice field
The body of a paramilitary ranger was found in a rice field in Pattani’s of Khok Pho district yesterday ,police said.
Pol Lt Col puvasit Mekhi, of Khok Pho police station, said the dead man was identified as Abdulroman Kaewkamsen,25,attached to Rangers Task Force 46.
An autopsy revealed he had been hit in the head with a sharp object. He died three to four hours before his body was found. Police are investigating.
Meanwhile , two M79 grenades were fired at the Mayo district office in Pattani on Sunday night but missed their target and casualties , police said.
The first M79 round landed near a water tank behind the district office and the other near the living quarters of the district chief Supon Pokaew.
The attack happened about 10.30 pm.
Mayo police chief Plo Col Kong-ath Snwankham said he believed the M79 grenades were launched from behind the district office.
