สำหรับเกม GTA เป็น 1 ใน 10 เกมที่อัยการสหรัฐอเมริกาได้เปิดเผยเมื่อปลายปี 2550 ที่ผ่านมาว่า ให้พ่อแม่ผู้ปกครอง หลีกเลี่ยงการซื้อให้ลูกเล่นซึ่งได้สั่งการให้กรมสุขภาพจิตตั้งคณะทำงานศึกษาดูแลปัญหาเกมอันตราย และให้ประสานกับ กระทรวง ไอซีที พัฒนาเกมคุณธรรม เกมแข่งกันทำดีให้เด็กเยาวชนไทยเล่นแทนเกมที่โหดร้าย
