การวิจัยเรื่องสารสนเทศเพื่อการพัฒนาระบบสารสนเทศของเครือข่ายการท่องเที่ยวโดยชุมชน มีวัตถุประสงค์ในการวิจัยเพื่อศึกษาเพื่อศึกษาสารสนเทศที่จำเป็นเพื่อการพัฒนาระบบสารสนเทศของเครือข่ายการท่องเที่ยวโดยชุมชน เป็นการศึกษาเชิงคุณภาพโดยมีโดยมีแบบสัมภาษณ์แบบมีโครงสร้างและดำเนินการจัดเก็บความรู้โดยใช้รูปแบบการจัดการความรูตามแบบจำลองปลาทู เป็นเครื่องมือในการจัดเก็บข้อมูลโดยเริ่มจากการกำหนดเป้าหมายของการจัดการความรู้ จากนั้นทำการแลกเปลี่ยนเรียนรู้ ผู้ดำเนินงานที่มีความเชี่ยวชาญ พร้อมทำการจัดเก็บความรู้ของเครือข่ายการท่องเที่ยวโดยชุมชนจังหวัดสตูล
ผลการวิจัยพบว่าสารสนเทศด้านการท่องเที่ยวที่จำเป็นของการท่องเที่ยวโดยชุมชนที่ใช้ในการพัฒนาระบบสารสนเทศเพื่อการกระจายความรู้ ประกอบไปด้วย 5 ประเด็น คือ 1) ข้อมูลพื้นฐานของชุมชน 2) ทรัพยากรธรรมชาติและวัฒนธรรม 3) องค์การชุมชน 4) การจัดการ และ 5) การเรียนรู้
