วันชาติ

วันชาติสิงคโปร์ ตรงกับวันที่ 9 สิงหาคม 1965 ของทุกปี เพื่อเป็นการรำลึกถึง ตัดสินใจที่จะแยกตัวออกจากสหพันธรัฐมาเลเซีย เมื่อวันที่ 7 สิงหาคม 1965 และประกาศตั้งชาติเมื่อวันที่ 9 สิงหาคม 1965 ท่ามกลางสถานการณ์การสู้รบที่แหลมคม ระหว่างคอมมิวนิสต์กับจักรวรรดินิยม


ธงชาติ


ธงชาติสิงคโปร์: เป็นธงสี่เหลี่ยมผืนผ้า กว้าง 2 ส่วน ยาว 3 ส่วน ประกอบด้วยแถบสองสีแบ่งครึ่งกลางธง แถบสีแดงอยู่ด้านบน แถบสีขาวอยู่ด้านล่าง ที่มุมธงบนด้านคันธงมีรูปพระจันทร์เสี้ยว ถัดจากรูปดังกล่าวมีรูปดาวห้าแฉก 5 ดวง เรียงเป็นรูปห้าเหลี่ยมด้านเท่า รูปเหล่านี้เป็นสีขาว ธงนี้เริ่มใช้ในปี พ.ศ.2502 ซึ่งเป็นปีที่สิงค์โปร์ได้สิทธิปกครองตนเองจากจักรวรรดิอังกฤษ และถือเป็นธงชาติของรัฐเอกราชเมื่อสิงคโปร์ประกาศเอกราชในวันที่ 9 สิงหาคม พ.ศ.2508
