การศึกษาครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาการออกฤทธิ์ทางชีวภาพของสารในช็อกโกแลตต่อความรู้สึกของมนุษย์และเพื่อศึกษาสารในช็อกโกแลตมีฤทธิ์ทางชีวภาพ เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในดการศึกษาคือ สารที่ออกฤทธิ์ทางชีวภาพในช็อกโกแลตมีผลต่ออารมณ์ของมนุษย์ วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลและนำเสนอวิจัยเชิงพรรณนา
ผลการศึกษาพบว่า เพียงแค่ช็อกโกแลตเพรียวๆไม่ได้ทำให้อารมณ์ของมนุษย์เปลี่ยนแต่เพราะคุณสมบัติของสารชีวภาพที่ผสมอยู่ในช็อกโกแลตต่างหากที่ทำให้อารมณ์ของมนุษย์เปลี่ยนไป แต่การทำงานของสารชีวภาพในช็อกโกแลตนั้นไม่ได้มีผลโดยตรงที่ทำให้เกิดผลต่ออารมณ์แต่สารเหล่านั้นไปกระตุ้นร่างกายของผู้ที่ทานช็อกโกแลตเข้าไปให้หลั่งฮอร์โมนและสารอื่นๆที่เกี่ยวกับอารมณ์
