ประเพณีสงกรานต์ของทั้ง3ประเทศจะจัดทั้ง3วันเหมือนกัน โดยประเทศไทยจะจัดวันที่13-15 เมษายน ประเทศลาวและประเทศกัมพูชาจะจัดวันที่14-16 เมษายน
วันแรกเป็นวันแห่งการทำบุญตักบาตร มีการขนทรายเข้าวัดเพื่อเตรียมก่อเจดีย์ ทำความสะอาดบ้านเรือน
วันที่สองเป็นวันครอบครัว พ่อแม่ลูกและญาติๆจะมารวมตัวกัน มีการให้ของขวัญและบายศรี ตอนเย็นจะพากันไปก่อเจดีย์ทราย
วันที่สามจะมีการละเล่นรื่นเริงต่างๆเช่น การสาดน้ำ การละเล่นพื้นบ้าน จากนั้นก็จะมีการสรงน้ำพระพุทธรูป และรดน้ำดำหัวญาติผู้ใหญ่ในครอบครัวเพื่อความเป็นสิริมงคล
