วนอุทยานน้ำตกธารงาม ตั้งอยู่ในเขตพื้นที่ป่าขุนห้วยสามทาก ขุนห้วยกองสี ตำบลหนองแสง มีพื้นที่ทั่งหมดประมาณ 78,125 ไร่ ประกาศเป็นวนอุทยานเมื่อวันที่ 19 ธันวาคม 2527 ลักษณะสภาพพื้นที่ของวนอุทยานฯ เป็นภูเขาสูงชัน และเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของเทือกเขาภูพาน เป็นแหล่งต้นน้ำลำธารที่ไหลลงสู่ห้วยสามทาก-ห้วยน้ำฆ้องตลอดปี
