เน้นการกระตุ้นให้ผู้เรียนเป็นตัวของตัวเองมากที่สุด เปิดโอกาสให้ผู้เรียนเลือกตามความต้องการ เน้นการมีส่วนร่วมเป็นสำคัญ และนำมาประยุกต์ใช้ให้เหมาะสม
ผู้สอน
1.ครูจะต้องให้เสรีภาพแก่นักเรียนอย่างเต็มที่ ครูเป็นเสมือนพ่อแม่มากกว่าเป็นครูผู้มีอำนาจ เป็นผู้ให้ความรัก ความอบอุ่น เลี้ยงดู และปฏิบัติต่อเด็กเสมือนเป็นลูกของตนเอง คอยให้คำปรึกษาหารือ แก้ปัญหาส่วนตัวตามความต้องการของเด็กอย่างสม่ำเสมอและต่อเนื่องทั้งในภาวะปกติและเจ็บป่วย
2.ครูจะต้องเอาใจใส่จัดการเรียนการสอนให้เกิดความสนุกสนาน และคำนึงถึงความแตกต่างของเด็กแต่ละคน ทั้งด้านสติปัญญา และอารมณ์ ครูจะต้องช่วยสร้างความพร้อมด้านอารมณ์ ความรู้สึกของเด็กให้เกิดความพร้อมที่จะเรียนรู้ หรือเกิดความสนใจและต้องการเรียนรู้ด้วยตนเอง และครูต้องพัฒนาการสอนของตนเองให้ก้าวหน้าอยู่เสมอ
3.ครูต้องเป็นผู้เข้าใจเด็ก รู้จิตรู้ใจเด็ก และรู้ปัญหาของเด็กแต่ละคนอย่างแท้จริงเพื่อช่วยให้เด็กเข้าใจปัญหาและรักษาตนเอง โดยครูจะต้องมีพรสวรรค์พอที่จะรู้ว่าควรอยู่ห่างหรือใกล้ชิดในระยะเวลาที่เหมาะสม และใจกว้างพอที่จะให้เด็กมีเสรีภาพเสมอภาคกับตนได้
